Built to feel alive from the first minute
Buyers write up to 300 characters, pick one of twelve backgrounds and four typefaces, and pay through Stripe Checkout. The webhook makes the text live instantly and it holds until the next purchase. Between purchases a seeded pool of 1,100 human-sounding lines rotates lazily, and a live viewer counter blends real presence with a simulated audience that fades out as real traffic grows. Polling is edge-cached so thousands of viewers cost the origin almost nothing.

Live, taking payments, and cheap to run
lastword.page is live at lastword.page and accepting purchases. It runs as one Next.js service on Railway with Postgres, Cloudflare in front and Stripe as merchant of record. Hot state lives in memory on a single replica by design, so running costs stay at the hosting bill and payment fees regardless of audience size.
